The electrochemical method is one of the most ideal methods to detect isomeride such as hydroquinone (HQ) and catechol (CC). However, when the bare glass-carbon electrode is used to simultaneously detect HQ and CC, the oxidation peak potential difference of HQ and CC is small and the peak shape is not obvious, so simultaneous detection cannot be achieved. Herein, a modified electrode is made by dropping carbon nanotubes containing carboxyl groups on a glassy carbon electrode, and simultaneously detection of HQ and CC by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) is realized. The two oxidation peak potentials difference is 120 mV, which is enough to recognize the HQ and CC. Under the optimal detection conditions of solution pH=6.0 and scanning rate of 50 mV·s-1, the linear range of HQ and CC is 1-50 μmol·L-1, and the detection limits are 0.1 μmol·L-1 and 0.7 μmol·L-1, respectively. The reaction of HQ and CC on the electrode is an electrochemical process of two protons and two electrons. The electrochemical method is simple to prepare, easy to operate, and easy to automate. It provides a new method for simultaneously detecting HQ and CC.
In the existing literature, the dynamic characteristics of the rotating shaft-disk systems are usually evaluated by using transfer matrix method (TMM) or finite element method (FEM). The results of the last methods are the approximate solutions and the exact solution concerned is rare. For last reason, this paper presents an analytical method to yield the exact whirling speeds and mode shapes of a spin “multi-span” continuous Timoshenko shaft mounted by arbitrary rigid disks. In theory, the whirling motion of a rotating shaft-disk system is three-dimensional (3-D), however, if the transverse displacement in the vertical principal xy-plane and that in the horizontal principal xz-plane for cross-section of the rotating shaft located at the axial coordinate are combined by using a complex number, while the diametric mass moment of inertia for unit length of the ith shaft segment, and that for each rigid disk , , are combined with their gyroscopic moments (GMs) to form the “frequency-dependent” equivalent mass moments of inertia, and , respectively, then the 3-D whirling motions of a rotating shaft-disk system will be similar to the two-dimensional (2-D) transverse free vibrations of a stationary beam. Therefore, the techniques for the 2-D free vibrations of a stationary beam carrying various concentrated elements (including intermediate rigid supports) will be available for the 3-D whirling motions of a rotating “multi-span” shaft mounted by arbitrary rigid disks. In order to confirm the reliability of the presented theory and the developed computer programs, most of the results obtained from presented method are compared with results obtained from available literature or FEM and good agreements are achieved.
One of the main problems of the cultivation of agricultural crops, including durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) in Azerbaijan is severe NaCl salinity and susceptibility of the regionalized varieties to salt. It is necessary to cultivate salt tolerant varieties in order to decrease a negative effect of this abiotic factor on the wheat yield. Developing the DNA markers of traits of economic importance allowed carrying out an express assessment of plants for resistance to the stress factors of the environment, and to identify varieties with high genetic potential of productivity. An assessment of the presence of the genome marker linked to the Nax1 gene, which regulates contents of sodium ions in leaves under salinity, has been performed in 19 domestic durum wheat varieties. Using gwm312 and wmc170 molecular markers 200bp allele linked to the Nax1 gene was detected in the Barakatli-95, Garabag, Sharg, Shiraslan-23 and Gyrmyzybugda varieties. Identified varieties may be promising for use in breeding.
In this work, two different adsorbent were comparatively used and developed preconcentration of ultra-trace levels of copper ions by flow injection analyses for atomic absorption spectrometry. Copper ions were preconcentrated on a mini-column packed with epichlorohydrin cross-linked silica gel-chitosan composite beads and epichlorohydrin cross linked multiwalled carbon nanotubes-chitosan composite beads. 0.1 M Ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid and 0.1 M nitric acid solutions were used in order to remove the copper ions from the adsorbents. The factors affecting preconcentration of copper (II) ions such as sample and eluent flow rate, loading time, pH, eluent concentration, interfering ions were investigated. Under the optimized parameters, detection limits of the methods were obtained as 2 ng mL−1 for epichlorohydrin cross linked silica gel-chitosan composite beads and 1.3 ng mL−1 for epichlorohydrin cross linked multiwalled carbon nanotubes-chitosan composite beads with enrichment factor of 23 and 19.2 respectively. In order to validate the developed methods, a certified reference material of EnviroMAT Drinking Water, Low (EP-L-2) was analyzed and the determined values were in good agreement with the certified values. The developed methods have also been applied to the determination of copper (II) ions in Gediz River (Manisa) with satisfactory results.
Nowadays, Speech Recognition is very important and popular. Speech recognition is the process of converting spoken words into text. This paper presents an approach to the recognition of speech signal using statistics method for the improvement of speech feature representation of voice recognition approach. This paper used connected words for recognition with different persons male and female in natural environment. The feature is extracted using median and mean values as feature vectors to speech recognize. Experimental results show that the proposed method gives good results.
This manuscript is devoted to the mathematical analysis of Hepatitis B model of fractional order\nderivative. The corresponding derivative is taken in Caputo-Fabrizio sense, which is a new approach\nfor such type of biological models. With the help of Sumudu transform, some new results are handled.\nFurther for the corresponding results, existence theory and uniqueness for the equilibrium solution\nare provided via using nonlinear functional analysis and fixed point theory due to Banach. Here,\nwe remark that the current derivative approach is better than the traditional Caputo derivative in\nwhich singular kernel has been used which often suffer from difficulties but in the present paper we\nhave applied the mentioned derivative without using the aforesaid kernel.
For animal body growth research as well as effective pest insect management, the characterization of growth pattern in organism is essential. A simple empirical mathematical technique is demonstrated here to understand the reproductive maturity age, mortality and whether the body growth is determinate or indeterminate, by incorporating a time dependent growth function G(t). This growth function for male and female grasshoppers Ceracris nigricornis laeta (Bol.) in Eastern Himalayan region (at Darjeeling, West Bengal, India) is estimated from time data of their body weight and length and consequently the nature of the growth is predicted. The theoretical approach introduced here is not only successfully tested on the grasshopper but also on male Moorish Tortoise (Testudo graeca graeca) and Rockfish (Sebastes mystinus) using the existing experimental data. Therefore this technique not only enriches the growth biology but also contributes in ecology and pest management.
